|Ely Scarf and Drama edit!|
Last October on the way home from Hunstanton in Norfolk to my little London suburb, we stopped at Ely. It was raining quite heavily as I recall and Mr Daffy thought we were stopping to have coffee and cake (which we did), however it was no surprise to him when I miraculously said "Oh look a yarn shop" of course I knew the Yarn on the Square was there! There was a traditional butchers nearby and Mr Daffy was happy to go and buy his dinner (I don't eat meat, only fish - so I rarely go into a butcher).
The Yarn on the Square is a gem of a yarn shop, I wish my London suburb had something similar - alas it doesn't. I decided on a skein of Manos del Uruguay Lace yarn for a little scarf and we left the square in the pouring rain to find our car. Unfortunately we spent an hour looking for the car park, it was funny at first but after 45 minutes we wondered what on earth we were going to do as the car park had vanished. It turned out we had missed the car park entrance right at the start of our search. Oh well exercise is always good.
I decided to use Cassia Scarf for the pattern. It was easy but a bit boring if I'm honest - however the project fitted nicely into a little make up bag for a portable project and here it is a lovely little neckerchief scarf, which is soft and warm too.
